CHRISTIAN ZÁRATE(Piano)
Christian Zárate was born in Buenos Aires in 1975. He started learning
piano at the age of 5, and became a member of Color Tango Orchestra
when he was 16 years old. Since then he has played in many Tango
Orchestras, including the Orquesta del Tango de la Ciudad de Buenos
Aires (Dir. Carlos García y Raúl Garello), the Orquesta
Estable del Teatro Colón (Guest pianist) (Dir. José
Carli), la Orchestra Juan de Dios Filiberto (Pianista invitado)
(Dir. Néstor Marconi), Juan José Mosalini Quintet,
Antonio Agri, Julián Plaza Sextet, Daniel Piazzolla Octet,
Fernando Suárez Paz, Walter Ríos Quintet, Marcelo
Nisinman, Orchestra Yoshinori Yoneyama, Rodolfo Mederos Quintet,
Orchestra Juan D'Arienzo (Dir.: Carlos Lázzari), Julio
Pane Trio, Baffa - De Lio Quintet.
In
1996 he created his first Tango Sextet, and has been the musical
Director of the following Tango Café Concerts: "El
Viejo Almacén", "Michelángelo" y
"Piazzolla Tango". He was also musical Director of the
international show "Tango x 2", and was hired by Oscar
Cardozo Ocampo as musical arranger for the film "Tango"
(Dir. Carlos Saura - Dir. Musical: Lalo Schiffrin). He has performed
in France in the Opera "María de Buenos Aires"
by Astor Piazzolla (with Juan José Mosalini and the Basse-Normandie
Orchestre - Dir. Dominique Debart) and in the United States with
"Tango Argentino" (on Broadway). In 2001 he created
the "Agri-Zárate-Falasca Trío", with whom
he recorded the CD "Prepárense".
Cristian
was the director and musical arranger for Guillermo Fernández:
(CD "G. Fernández" - Winner of "Gardel Prize
2002") and (CD "Conexión Piazzolla - Ferrer"
- Nominated for "Gardel Prize 2003"), and for Raúl
Lavié and María Graña: (CD: "Rara, como
encendida" - Winner of "Gardel Prize 2004").
He
directed the Synphonic Orchestra for the film "Tango, Spirit
of Argentina" (U.S.A. Production for P.B.S.), and the "Orquesta
del Tango de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires" at the Alvear Theater
(2004) and at the Colón Theater (2005).
In 2005 he closed the "VI Cumbre Mundial del Tango in Sevilla"
(Spain), together with Rubén Juárez and the famous
Flamenco singer Enrique Morente.
Recently, he has edited his new CD "Evolución Tango",
and is promoting it, performing with his Sextet all over the world.
HORACIO
ROMO
(Bandoneón)
Horacio
Romo started studing bandoneon when he was 9 years old, and then
with Masters Julio Pane and Marcos Madrigal. He had been in many
famous Tango Orchestras. For nine years he performed with the
"Color Tango Orchestra" all over the world. In 1999
he performed at the Piazzolla´s Bandoneon Concert as the
soloist guest, with the Oregon Symphonic Orchestra and with the
Los Angeles Symphonic Orchestra.
Since
1996 he has been the formal Bandoneonist of the Cristian Zárate
Sexteto, with whom he has performed and recorded on many occasions.
He is currently touring with the band on their promotional tour
of the new CD "Evolución Tango".
JOSÉ LUIS COLZANI
(Drums)
José
Luis Colzani was born in Buenos Aires, in 1955. At the age of
10 he started studying Percussion at the Concervatorio Municipal
Manuel de Falla. At the age of 14, he joined the ''Orquesta Sinfónica
Juvenil de Radio Nacional" under the Orquesta´s Conductor
Washington Castro. While in college, he focussed on Jazz, Rock
and Classical music, and studied drumset with drummer Alberto
Alcala and playing with diverse bands reaching popularity in the
rock music scene.
In
1974 he moved to Europe to join different groups and top forty
bands, and continued studying on his own. After 4 years of engagements
in Europe, he returned to Argentina, where he recorded and worked
with local and international artists, including: Jairo, José
Luis Perales, Luis Miguel, Julia Zenko, Nicola Di Bari, Iva Zannichi,
Rubén Rada, JL Aute, Lucecita Benítez, Manolo Juárez,
and Dino Saluzzi.
José
has also worked with Tango singer Susana Rinaldi, with whom he
toured the world, playing in small groups and symphony orchestras
such as "Orquesta Sinfónica de Montevideo", "Sinfónica
Nacional de Venezuela", and "Sinfónica de Mar
del Plata".
Accompanied
by pianist and composer Atilio Stampone, he performed the ballet
"Tango" (Dir.: Oscar Araiz) with The Gineve's ballet
at the Colón Teather,). Accompanied

From
1981 to 1983 he worked as a drummer in the Colón Theatre
Philharmonic Orchestra, and in 1992 he recorded with Hugo Potenza's
Tango Libre, Mario Parmisano (Al Di Meola pianist), and Ernesto
Dmitruk Cuarteto (Argentinian Contemporary Folk and Jazz Music).
In
1998 he played in "The Buenos Aires Tango Festival"
with "La Orquesta de Grandes Maestros y Solistas". That
Festival was held in the Colón Theater of Buenos Aires,
with Leopoldo Federico, Horacio Salgán, Atilio Stampone,
Raúl Garello, and Carlos García.
Since 1999 he has been the formal Drummer of the Cristian Zárate
